Cucumbers Growing Tips and Advice
|
| Cucumbers, which can be divided into “slicing” and “pickling” categories, have a very short growing season and seeds should be direct-sown only after the soil is completely warm. Cucumbers love lots of organic matter in their soil.
Planting CucumbersSow your seeds 1 inch deep and 3 inches
apart in a furrow filled with about a foot of organic matter. Since
cucumber roots will grow about 3 feet deep, you should water slowly
and generously. If you only have a little space, cucumbers trained on
a trellis do very well. You can also consider growing midget varieties. Try this Cucumber Sandwich Filling. Tips for growing vegetables: Pumpkins Tips for growing herbs: Sage
